Jet Packer and Foot Valve
Most water wells with an above ground deep well jet pump have a jet packer that is at the bottom of the drop pipe inside the well casing. These jet packers are comprised of: a nozzle, venturi tube, set of leathers, and a foot valve inside the jet with a neoprene ring. Any one of these components can fail and cause serious problems within a well system. An additional foot valve can be installed on the bottom of the jet which can act as a back up if the neoprene ring wears down inside the jet causing it to fail.
